Sheikh Daood Imran Molaasan
Co-Leader | Founder & National President, Jama’atu Ta’awunil Muslimeen
Having realized that the greatness of a worthy cause—such as the effort to standardize and fortify Yoruba Islam—is not measured by personal achievements but by the sacrifices made for its success, Sheikh Daood Imran Molaasan chose the path of service over personal gain. Despite receiving scholarship offers from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Qatar, he devoted his life to reviving pristine Islam in Yorubaland. Today, the sacrifices he made are bearing fruitful results, marking the beginning of an era long envisioned by him.
Sheikh Daood Imran Molaasan is the Founder and National President of Jama’atu Ta’awunil Muslimeen. A grand student of the revivalist Sheikh Abdul Baki Muhammad (May Allah be pleased with him), he began his education at Ansar-ud-Deen Primary School, Iwo, and later studied at Islahudeen Arabic School. He completed his Idaadiy and Thanawiy studies under Sheikh Hadiyatullahi Abdul Rasheed. Though he had various opportunities to study abroad, his commitment to da’wah led him to remain in Nigeria, founding Jama’atu Ta’awunil Muslimeen in 1994. By 1995, he was fully immersed in Islamic activism, focusing on building a strong foundation for Islam in Yorubaland.
Despite his responsibilities, Sheikh Daood pursued further Islamic studies through Islamic Online University, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in Islamic Studies and certificates in Jurisprudence, History, and Management. Inspired by revivalism, he organizes grassroots campaigns across the Southwest and other parts of Nigeria, including Kwara, Sokoto, Zamfara, and the Federal Capital Territory. His goal is to revive the legacy of Sheikh Abdul Baki Muhammad and awaken a united, righteous Muslim Ummah.
To achieve this, he studied the history of Muslims, traveled widely, and engaged with scholars from Saudi Arabia, Syria, Yemen, Turkey, and Egypt—learning from them and urging unity among Muslim communities. Sheikh Daood continues to interact with renowned scholars and figures including Sheikh Muhammed Kamaldeen Al-Adabiy, Sheikh Muqaddam Akinola, Sheikh Imran Eleha, Professor Ishaq Akintola, Dr. Abdul Lateef Abdul Hakeem, and Abu Mazeedatilkhayr Bn Sa’eed.
He has attended global conferences and seminars in Algeria, Lebanon, Yemen, Libya, Saudi Arabia, Syria, and Sudan. He is recognized internationally as a leading voice in contemporary Islamic thought and awakening.
